TUNBRIDGE – Shirley M. Ware, 76, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. She was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Vershire, the daughter of Michael J. and Gertrude L. (Blow) O’Toole. She graduated from Chelsea High School in 1947. In her younger years she was a camp counselor at Downer 4-H Camp in Sharon. For six years she worked at National Life in Montpelier. On Oct. 16, 1954, she married Calvin H. Ware of Tunbridge. They lived all their married life on the family dairy farm, Clover Hill Farm, which they owned and operated on Monarch Hill Road. Mrs. Ware was a member of Tunbridge Market Ladies Aid and Tunbridge Congregational Church. She enjoyed reading, her cats and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Calvin, of Tunbridge; a son, James A. Ware, of Tunbridge; daughters, Colleen M. Nicoll, of Eagar, Ariz., Rose-Marie Wilson of Barre and Sherri A. Ware of Tunbridge; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice McLeod. There are no public calling hours. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tunbridge Congregational Church in Tunbridge. The Rev. David L. Wolfe will officiate the service. Burial will follow the service at the Village Cemetery in Tunbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Branch Ambulance Services Inc., PO Box 74, Chelsea, VT 05038. Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home of Chelsea is in charge of the arrangements.
