RICHARD “DICK” JAMES WARE, 56, who retired as a civil engineer from the civil service at Fort Carson, died April 23, 1995, at a local hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mountain View Mortuary Chapel, 2350 Montebello Square Drive. Mr. Ware was born Aug. 18, 1938, in Great Barrington, Mass., to Herman James and Ann (Terpczynski) Ware. His mother survives. He was married Oct. 19, 1991, in Colorado Springs to Gretchen Wallis, who survives. He also is survived by a stepson, Robert Wallis of Englewood; three stepdaughters, Shani Albright of Auburn, Wash., Shellie Urban of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Shannon Thoemmes of Aurora; a brother, Floyd Hayden of Wichita Falls, Texas; a sister, Carol A. Stockwell of Orange, Mass.; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Ware served in the Air Force and attained the rank of airman, second class. He had been an area resident for 13 years and was a National Rifle Association member.
