Claudine Ware Powell, 82, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie C. Powell, a sister, Beatrice Cunningham; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Morgan. She is survived by a daughter, Regina Morgan, of Shelbyville; a son Doyle Powell, of Eminence; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers Sidney and Harold Ware, of Spencer County. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the Shannon Funeral Home. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Highland Baptist Church.
