Robert Lee Ware, 67, of Fairmont, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at his home on Saturday, (Jan. 2, 2016).

He was born in Buckhannon on Dec. 3, 1948, a son of the late Colonel and Lorraine Jeffries Ware.

He was a graduate of Elkins High School. He was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God and Yeshua Ben David congregations. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and visiting the Amish Country of Holmes County, Ohio. He most of all enjoyed the love and comfort of family time. Robert enjoyed helping others and always did what he could for those in need.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was last employed at Ruby Memorial Hospital in the distribution department. Prior to that he had worked at Philips Lighting in Fairmont for 21 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Thelma Ailstock Ware; two sons, Jason Ware and his wife Carrie of Huntington and Troy Ware of Fairmont; one brother, Ernest Ware and his wife Hazel of Buckhannon; one sister, Ina Mae Swanson and her husband Dan of Belington; three grandchildren, Alex Ware, Sequoia Ware and Addie Ware.

Friends may call from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday and from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Fancher and Elder Kevin Sharpe officiating. Interment services will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Marion County Military Veterans Council Honor Guard.
