“Mrs. B. W. Johnson

Last rites were held for Mrs. Bettie Ware Johnson, age 58, from the Poplar Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 p. m. Thursday of this week, with interment in Nations cemetery. Rev. J. M. Palmertree conducted the services.

After an eight-month illness, Mrs. Johnson passed away on June 1st at San Luis Obispo, California. She was born in Montgomery County on August 18 1883. Thirty-nine years ago she was married to John Wm. Johnson. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

The deceased is survived by her mother, Mrs. D. S. Ware of Winona; two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Walker of California and Mrs. Hugo Sisson of Monroe., La.; five sons, Rupert, Abbie and Durwood Johnson of California, Noble and Ruple Johnson of Crossett, Ark.; four sisters Mrs. W. E. King and Mrs. Allie Pearson of Winora, Mrs. Delia Sherwood of Hollandale, Miss., and Mrs. Gertrude Garrett of Greenville, Miss.; three brothers, Woodie Ware of Winona, A. Z. Ware of Kilmichael and Jeff Ware of Ruleville, Miss.”
