Rebecca Ware Walters Obituary, 2006

Rebecca Ware Walters, 92, a homemaker, died Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Graveside services are 2:30 p.m. today, Oct. 29, 2006 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sumner. Mark Seepe Funeral Directors in Jackson, Mississippi is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Walters, daughter of Clarence and Grace Shofner Ware, was born in Winona. She was an 80-year resident of Sumner, where she was a homemaker and married for 67 years to G.W. (Wash) Walters. She was a member of First Baptist Church and active with the WMU and established the Cradle Roll department of the church.

Survivors include; daughter, Grace Walters (Doug) Harrington of Jackson; grandchildren, Becky McMillian of Philadelphia, Pa., Morris Thompson Jr. of Lexington, Ky., Walt Thompson of Pascagoula, Frances Peterson of Chesapeake, Va., Doug Harrington, Jr. of Tustin, Calif., Lee Harrington of Germantown, Tenn.; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren survive her.

Preceded in death by spouse; daughter, Jean Walters Thompson and grandson, Spencer Thompson.
