Keith Porter Ware, 86, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 7, 2014, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Scottdale, a son of the late Russell D. and Amy Lucille (Porter) Ware. Keith retired from Duraloy Blaw-Knox, Scottdale, with 25 years of service. He was veteran of the Navy, serving on the USS Mt. Olympus during operation High Jump in the Antarctic and 20 years in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was also a graduate of Scottdale High School, class of 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gilbert Todd Ware; and a brother, Robert James Ware. Keith is survived by his loving wife, Thelma Grace Leonard; a son, Keith Porter Ware II and his wife, Susan; a daughter-in-law, Carla Ware; grandchildren, Jason Ware (Erin), Zachary Ware (Erica), Melissa Hertzog (Joshua) and Todd Glenn Ware; great-grandchildren, Patterson, Ember, Liliana and Sienna Ware and Cassidy Hertzog; a sister, Meredith Wise and husband, William; a sister-in-law, Louise Ware; and many nieces and nephews.
