Born: May 2, 1923 Died: March 23, 2012 ST. CHARLES – Manda B. Ware, age 88, formerly of St. Charles, passed away surrounded by her family and friends and left this world for a better one Friday, March 23, 2012. She was born May 2, 1923, in Hilleman, Ark., to Samuel and Ola May Matlock. She was united in marriage to Roy Ware in 1939 in Hilleman, Ark. In 1957, they moved their family to the Valley View area. She worked in the housekeeping and laundry department at Delnor Hospital for more than 30 years before retiring in 1988. Manda was a resident of Tower Hill Healthcare in South Elgin for several years. Mrs. Ware is survived by her sons, Doyle (Joyce), Roy (Sandie) and Michael (Cindy); daughters, Mary (Jim) Hollquist and Patricia Harrison; nine grandsons, seven granddaughters, nine great-grandsons, 11 great-granddaughters, a great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews and a very good friend, Vonnie Howell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents; and a son, Jerry, in 2003. The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Yurs Funeral home, 1771 W. State St. (Route 38), Geneva. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Elgin.
