Wilkinson – William P. Ware, 83, Shirley, died Saturday afternoon at the Henry County Hospital in New Castle where he had been a patient since Friday.
Ware was born Feb. 27, 1874, and resided in Hancock County all of his life. His wife, Ethel Jane Ware, died Feb. 24, 1943 (1953).
Surviving are: five daughters, Mrs. Mary Jessup and Mrs. Alice Cheisher, both of Shirley; Mrs. Marie Felix, Muncie; Mrs. Martha Cramer, Maxwell; and Mrs. Lena Sykes (Sipes), Anderson; four sons, William E. Ware, Shirley; Mearl Ware, Hagerstown; Loren Ware, Kennard, and Carol Ware, Spiceland; three sisters, Mrs. Olive Davis, Shirley; Mrs. Della Webb, Greenfield, and Mrs. Eva Grumden, Knightstown, and 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Condo and Son Funeral Home at Wilkinson and later removed to the home of the daughter, Mrs. Jessup, at Shirley where friends are being received.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Shirley Methodist Church with the Rev. Verl Libby and the Rev. Paul Crumbauer in charge. Burial will be in the McCray Cemetery at Wilkinson.
