Kathryn Evone Cooper “Katie” Ware, age 95 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life early Sunday morning, November 30, 2014 at Colonial Place.
She had been in declining health.
She was born Wednesday April 2, 1919 at Junior, WV a daughter of the late Charles F. and Alice Dumire Cooper.
On October 23, 1941 at Oakland, MD she was married to Albert Edison Ware, who preceded her in death August 11, 1991.
She is survived by her last remaining sibling Hope Caplinger of Elkins; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great grandnieces and great grandnephews.
Preceding her in death are three brothers and eight sisters.
She was a former employee of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, General Motors Corporation and the Junior Mercantile.
She was a former member of Calvary Methodist Church of Junior, Asbury Methodist Church of Belington, United Methodist Temple of Beckley and the First Methodist Church of Elkins.
Katie was also a member of the Randolph County Chapter #74 of the Order of Eastern Star and the Woodmen of the World.
She was an avid bowler, enjoyed square dancing with her husband Albert.
Katie was a loving wife and aunt who will be missed by all that knew her.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Friday from noon until 2:00pm the funeral hour.
The Randolph Chapter # 74, Order of the Eastern Star will conduct ritualistic services.
Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 2:00PM.
The Rev. Dallas Forren will officiate and interment will follow at the Belington Fraternal Cemetery at Belington, WV.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Asbury Methodist Church, 134 South Beverly Pike Belington, WV, 26250.
