Monica A. Ware Obituary, 1999

NORTH ADAMS — Monica A. Ware, 65, of St. Joseph’s Court, 85 Eagle St., died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center, where she was admitted Feb. 1.

Born in Burlington, Vt., on April 11, 1933, daughter of the late Raphael and Lillie Nederer Melancon, she moved to North Adams as a child and attended the former Holy Family School and Drury High School.

In her younger years, she was employed by New England Telephone Co. in North Adams as a telephone operator. Later, she assisted her late husband, David Francis Ware, in the operation of the Sunrise Dairy in Williamstown until the business ceased operations in 1976. Before her retirement in 1988, she was employed as a switchboard operator at North Adams Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Ware was a communicant of Holy Family Church, and enjoyed bingo and line dancing.

She and her husband were married May 27, 1955, in Holy Family Church. He died Dec. 10, 1995.

She leaves a daughter, Miss Sandra Jean Ware of Clarksburg; a son, Christopher D. Ware of North Adams; a sister, Margaret George of Fort Wayne, Ind., and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Monica A. Ware, 65. Funeral services Thursday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial at a later date in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Beloved mother of Sandra J. Ware and Christopher D. Ware, Massachusetts state policeman assigned to the state fire marshal’s office. Loving grandmother of Tyler Ware and Kristyn Ware. Sister of Margaret George. Also survived by daughter-in-law, Karen Dean Ware, and brother-in-law, Bruce George. No calling hours. Memorial donations suggested for grandchildren’s education fund through the funeral home, in lieu of flowers.
