Mrs. Amanda Ware

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Ware, who passed away at the home of her son, Jeff Ware, near Ruleville on April 14th were held at Nations Church Thursday afternoon, April 15th, at three o’clock with her pastor, the Rev. J. M. Palmertree officiating. Interment was in Nations cemetery with Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ware, who was 87 years of age, was the daughter of the late James E. and Susan Holly Chesteen, pioneer settlers of the Poplar Creek community. She was married to D. S. Ware, who preceded her in death seven years ago.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Allie Pearson and Mrs. Sue King of Winona, Mrs. Della Sherwood of Indianola and Mrs. Gertrude Garrett of Greenville; and three sons, Woodie Ware of Winona, Jeff Ware, Ruleville, and A. Z. Ware of Kilmichael.

(Note: The obituary has incorrect name for Amanda’s father. He was Edmund Young Chesteen.)
