Nancy Caroline Ward Ware Obituary, 2016

TUNNEL HILL — Nancy Caroline Ward Ware, 85, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at her residence. Named after her great great grandmother “Nancy Caroline Crocker Ward”, Nancy was born and raised in Ringgold and was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir.

After graduating high school, she went to West Georgia College for two years.

After graduating, she taught one year at Boynton Elementary. Nancy then went to North Georgia College to finish her degree for two more years.

She worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for a short time until she started teaching at Ringgold High School, where she taught for a couple of years then began working with her husband taking care of the bookkeeping for L.Q. Ware Farms where she worked for 30 years.

Nancy was a member of the Battlefield Pilot Club and former Board Member of the Catoosa County Children’s Fund.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Q. (Cooster) Ware; parents, Solomon Bertrand and Ethel Robinson Ward; and siblings, Bert Ward, Tommy Ward, Annie Lou McDaniel, Nell Adine Pitt and Joe Ward.

She is survived by four children, Louis Ware, Sol (Meleisa) Ware, and Russell (Janice) Ware, all of Ringgold, and Eric (Frankie) Ware, of Decatur, Ga.; sister, Nina Ward Norman, of Chattanooga.; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, seventeen nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Gary Knowles officiating.

Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday, until funeral time at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
