William Richard Ware Obituary, 2006

WHITWELL – William Richard “Red” Ware, 75, a resident of Whitwell, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006.

Mr. Ware was of the Baptist faith. His great joy in life was gardening. He was known throughout the valley as the tomato man and was often seen peddling his tomatoes.

Mr. Ware was preceded in death by his parents, Fall and Madgie; and son, Richard Ware; sisters, Grace Raines and Hazel Morris.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nova: daughters, Margie (Freddie) Severs, Ann (Doug) Cooper, Pat (Jimmy) Steele; sister, Nellie Jo (Eddie) Turberville; brothers, Bill (Liz) Ware, Jim (Cindy) Ware; uncle, Joe (Katherine) Castle; aunt, Velma Ware; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. CDT Friday, April 21, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Alan Griffith officiating.

Interment will be at Red Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends 11 a.m.-8 p.m. CDT today, April 20.
