“OPELOUSAS — Mrs. Amy Dixon Bradford Ware, 73, Opelousas, granddaughter of a former Louisiana governor and state Supreme Court justice, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday at St. Landry Clinic.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George K. Bradford. Her grandfather was Gov. Francis T. Nicholls who also served on the Supreme Court.

Funeral services were held Monday. Burial was in Bellevue Memorial Park by Lafond & Son Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, James H. Ware; two sons, James H. Ware Jr., Baton Rouge, and George Bradford Ware, Rayne; three daughters, Mrs. John W. Anthony, Bogalusa, Mrs. Bill Wallis, New Iberia, and Mrs. Robert Lucent, South Sioux City, Neb., and 12 grandchildren.”
