Virgil A. Ware Obituary, 1988

“Virgil A Ware, 78, a resident of Valley Head, died at 4 p.m. Thursday May 26 at his home. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
Born Oct. 8, 1909, at Valley Head, he was a son of the late Arthur and Mary Leary Ware.
On Dec. 21, 1937 at Elkins, he was united in marriage to the former Iva Ware, who preceded him in death on May 28,1969.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Herman “DOROTHY” Weese, of Beverly, Mrs. Junior “Shirley” Amos, Huttonsville; and Mrs. Ronald “Doris” Doyle of Mace, Wv.; three sons, Arlie Ware, Valley Head; Donald Ware, Valley Head, and Randall Keith Ware of Mingo. three sisters, Dorothy Hamrick, Valley Head, Elva Snyder, Cleveland, Ohio and Virginia Corley, Akron, Ohio; one brother Carl Ware of Valley Head; 16 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Rickey Allen Skidmore.
Mr. Ware was a coal miner and also employed by Miles Lumber Company where he retired in 1975 . He attended the Point Mountain Community Church of Monterville, where he was the pianist for church services for many years.
Friends will be received at the F.E Runner Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday when Mr. Ware will be moved to the Point Mountain Community Church for visitation from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Marshall Williams, pastor of the church will officiate and interment will follow in the Valley Head Cemetery.”
