She was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Oscar and Eva Smith Anderson. She was a homemaker. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Sioux City, Iowa, where she sang in the choir for more than 50 years. She was a member of PEO.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Ware of Topeka, Kan., and John Ware of Columbia; three daughters, Susan Brater of Arcata, Calif., Nancy Ware of San Rafael, Calif., and Dr. Janet Abel of Millstadt; a brother, Dr. Rod Anderson of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a sister, Joy Trullinger of Des Moines, Iowa; and seven grandchildren, Allie Brater, Gwynn Brater, Lauren Shepard, Lindsey Shepard, Nickolas Abel, Rhea Abel and Hal Abel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dr. Thomas Ware.
She was cremated.
Strauss Funeral Home in Millstadt handled the arrangements.
