COOK, PEGGY GENE WARE
age 81, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at her home in Knoxville, Tennessee. She had been sick for a lengthy period. She was born and raised in Adams, Tennessee, and was a member of the Red River Baptist Church. Proceeded in death by her parents, Archie Eugene and Madie Herndon Ware. Survived by her husband, Walter C Cook; daughter, Colette Ann Wilhelm, Warner Robbins, Georgia; son, Walter (Wally) C Cook, Jr., Knoxville; grandsons, Alex Wilhelm and Nickolas Wilhelm; and granddaughter, Caitlin Marie Wilhelm all of Warner Robbins; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lance, McMinnville, Tennessee; brothers-in law, Cecil Cook, Franklin, Tennessee, Norman Cook, Paris, Tennessee, and Harold Cook, McMinnville, Tennessee; and her cousin, Bobby Ware, Athens, Alabama. Peggy loved to travel and had visited many states as well as Morocco, Spain, islands of Guam and Palau, Japan. Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. She was a multi-talented artist working in ceramic, baskets and wreaths. She was internationally known for her reproduction of antique cross stitch samplers and was featured in the State of Tennessee Folklife Program of the Tennessee Arts Commission. Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday 16th, and 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday 17th, with an 11:00 a.m. service at McMinnville Funeral Home, McMinnville, Tennessee. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
