RICHARD B. WARE

Richard Byron Ware, 66, of the 8500 block of Matthew Maury Court in Spotsylvania, formerly
of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at his residence.
Mr. Ware was born in Jacksonville, Fla., and was the son of the late Theodore R. and Johnie Sustare Ware. He was the husband of Lora Barlow Ware. He retired in 1994 as an engineer with TRADOC at Fort Monroe, Va., and retired from General Dynamics in 1987. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland, after which he received two master’s degrees. Before his death, he had been working in the Elder Studies at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg. He was a member of the International Electrical Engineers Association, and recently was elected to the board of the Chancellors-West Home Owners Association. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Alice Barlow; a stepson, Joseph Barlow and his wife, Holly; two stepgrandchildren, Brittany Barlow and Jordan Barlow, all of Chesapeake; a brother, Donald Ware Sr. of Salisbury, Md.; four nieces; and two nephews.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, with the Rev. Charles L. Mosely officiating. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
Viewing will begin Saturday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to
8 p.m.
