“Mrs. Ware Dies after Long Illness

Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Ware, 84, were held Monday afternoon at Little’s Funeral Home. Mrs. Ware died Saturday [February 6, 1971] in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, where she had been a patient four months.

Rev. Melvin R. Vender, retired Presbyterian minister, officiated at the service and burial was in Elkland Township cemetery.

Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Deming, Mrs. Ware was born Jan. 25, 1887, in Oscoda. She and William Ware were married Sept. 26, 1906, in Cass City. They observed their 64th wedding anniversary in 1970.

Mrs. Ware was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cass City.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Leon Ware of Cass City; five grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.”
