“Mrs. Edward [sic Edwin] Ware Died Thursday Night
Death Of Well Known Lady Came After A Long Illness
Mrs. Edward A. Ware passed away at her home on West South street at 9:30 o’clock Thursday evening. Her death followed a long illness resulting from an abdominal growth. An operation was resorted to fifteen weeks ago and while it was apparently successful it afforded only temporary relief as the growth returned, developing very rapidly and showing signs of malignancy. Mrs. Ware’s death was due to this recurrence of the former trouble. Her condition had been very critical for several days.
Mrs. Ware was born in Huntington County on August 13, 1869 [sic 1871]. She was the daughter of Henry W. Dalrymple and wife, both deceased, and was christened Cora E. The family moved to Wells County when Mrs. Ware was a girl and she had been a resident of Liberty township for years, moving to Bluffton to reside about four years ago.
Her marriage to Edward A. Ware was solemnized in Bluffton on July 1, 1888, by Rev. West. Mr. and Mrs. Ware began housekeeping at once on his farm in Liberty township and resided there until 1910, when the family moved to Bluffton.
The surviving relatives include the husband, one son, Claude Ware, one sister, Mrs. E. M. Mossburg, of Warren, and two brothers, Charles Dalrymple, of Birmingham, Ala., and Lloyd Dalrymple, of Brandon, Wisconsin. Both of the brothers will be here to attend the funeral services. In addition to these relatives Mrs. Ware has had in her home for a number of years, Miss Blanche Miller, who has occupied the position of a daughter in many ways.
Mrs. Ware, with her husband, is a member of the First Reformed church. She was devout in observing the obligations of her faith and was sustained and comforted thereby in her last illness. Mrs. Ware also served as the recording secretary of the Woman’s Home Missionary Society of the M. E. Church.
She was a member of the W. C. T. U. and of the Woman’s Relief Corps.
The funeral will be conducted at two o’clock Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. H. R. Diefenbach, Rev. W. T. Arnold, and the W. C. T. U. Services will be held at the Reformed church.
