Martha Jane Ware, 93, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (Aug. 8, 2016) at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.

She was born July 4, 1923, daughter of the late William H. and Nella Dale (Satterfield) Linn.

Martha was active in the Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the president of the Methodist Minister Wives Association. Martha enjoyed reading and going on her daily walks.

Martha is survived by her four children, David Ware and wife Trudy of Jane Lew, Janice Sundstrom of Freemansburg, Joyce Ware of Mount Lookout and Gayle Jayne and husband Peter of Centreville, Maryland; eight grandchildren, John Warder, Samuel Ware, Tim Harsha, Debbie Birckhead, Kristen Eakle, Katie Staley, Rebecca Jayne and Brian Jayne; and eight great-grandchildren, Georgia Warder, Ava Birckhead, Jack Birckhead, Bobby Eakle, Nathan Eakle, Audrey Staley, Emma Staley and Max Deifel.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Dr. Virgil H. Ware; four brothers, Robert, Ralph, Hugh, and Calvin Linn; and four sisters, Evelyn Harris, Ruth Morrison, Doris McDougal and Madeline Stebbins.

Family and friends may call from 1-2:30 p.m. Friday at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Ken Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Clermont Cemetery in Fairmont.
