”For judge of the county court of Essex county, Mr. Blakey nominated E. M. Ware. And he was ordered to inform the House of Delegates thereof. A message was received from the House of Delegates by Mr. Embrey, who informed the Senate that the only name before that house for county court judge of Essex county was that of E. M. Ware. Barksdale, Blakey, Brace, Claytor, Dinwiddie, Donohoe, Egglerton, Fairfax, Flood, Foster, Glass, Gold, Harvey, James, Jeffries, Johnston, Keezell, Le Cato, Lupton, Lyle, Mann, Masie, Maynard, Mcllwaine, Morris, Munford, Opie, Shands, St. Clair, Steele, Tate, Tyler, Walker, Wallace, Watkins, and Whitehead—36. The President appointed Messrs. Blakey and Tate as a committee on the part of the Senate to meet a similar committee on the part of the House of Delegates and count the joint votes, who, through their chairman, reported : For judge of the county court of Essex county : Whole number of votes cast, – – – 119 Necessary to a choice, …. 60 Of which E M.
