"HAL PEWITT,an aged colored man,was found dead in a cotton 
field of Dr.G.G.WARE,near Stanton,last Friday morning.The 
old man was alive late Thursday evening.He and his wife 
were picking cotton and she left him and went to the cabin
to prepare supper,the old man remarking he would come in 
as soon as he 'picked his row out.' Search was made the 
next morning.Heart disease caused his death."
