Helen Ware

“ENTERTAINMENTS

A recital was given in the Hampton Gymnasium on Friday evening, January 8, under the auspices of the Hampton Choral Union, by Miss Helen Ware, the young violinist of Philadelphia who has won a high reputation as an interpreter of Hungarian and Slav music.  Miss Ware played with fire and feeling selections of the folk music and brilliant productions of some of the artists of these nationalities.  Among them were the ‘Concerto in B minor,’ by Saint-Saens, a ‘Ballade,’ by Dvorak, a Hungarian love song arranges by Miss Ware, and two Hungarian dances arranged by Brahms.”
