“Whereupon Resolved that the said surrender be accepted A Memorial from the American Academy of the Arts praying a grant of the Rooms [391] in the old Alms House lately assigned to the Library Society and by them surrendered, and a similar request from the Historical Society Also a petition from the American Bible Society, and from the Columbian Society for the use of a Room, and a memorial from Jonathan Ware for the assignment of rooms for the purpose of holding a School, on an improved plan, in the said building, were presented and referred to the Committee on arts and Sciences.”

The Committee on the petition of Jon Ware on the subject of an improved method of instructing children Reported That having had the same together with his letter and many respectable testimonials relative thereto under their consideration they recommend the adoption of the following resolution

Resolved that Jonathan Ware for his new and peculiar method of instructing children is well deserving of the public patronage.
