Lillie Mae (Harrison) Ware of Plainfield died Thursday. She was 85.
Born March 22, 1924, in Garrod County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Ira and Gracie (Poynter) Harrison. She was the widow of Linvil R. Ware.
Mrs. Ware worked 20 years as a packer for the US Rubber Co. in Indianapolis before retiring in 1983.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Terry A. and Darrel Porter; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Albert Kirk; granddaughters Tonia Starnes and Tracy Hood; a stepgrandson, Chris Porter; nine great-grandchildren, four stepgreat-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield. Entombment will be at Washington Park North Cemetery.
Calling at the funeral home is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.

I was born and grew up just a few miles from Plainfield in Danville. Don’t believe Lillie Mae was any relation, but she shold have been. Many of us high school kids used to swim in the Plainfield city pool in the ’50’s. And of course Plainfield/Danville were sports rivals.
