"CLOVIS, N.M. - Ray L. Hale, 69, died Monday, Nov. 
23, 1998.

   Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Steed-Todd 
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Scott officiating. 
Burial will be in Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland.

   Mr. Hale was born in Clovis and served in the Army 
in the late 1940s. He was a self-employed telephone 
technician.

   He married Lois Ware in 1984 at Midland, Texas.

   Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Deborah 
Hale of Lake Ridge, Va.; three stepdaughters, Selena 
Strebeck of Clovis, Berniece Poldrak of Midland and 
Jana Clements of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren."
