“Bear Lake — Roy Ware, Bear Lake Township Treasurer was stricken at work Monday afternoon at the Sawyer Fruit and Vegetable plant and was taken to Paul Oliver Hospital, Frankfort, where he died at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Mr. Ware was born in Bear Lake Township to John H. and Jessie Ware on September 1, 1901. He graduated from Bear Lake High School, served on the school board for many years and has served the township as treasurer for over 30 years. He has been a farmer and has worked at the Sawyer plant for 17 years.
Surviving are his wife Verona; five sons, Elroy of Alanson, Nathan of N. Muskegeon, Irwin of Bear Lake, Merle of Kaleva and Marvin at home. His daughter Joy, Mrs. James Babcock of Kaleva; 10 grandchildren; and five brothers, Ray, Lawrence, Harry, and Willis of Bear Lake and Charley of Kaleva.
Funeral services will be today (Friday) at the Bennett Funeral Home, The Rev. Phillip Jaquish officiating. Burial will be in Bear Lake Township Cemetery.”
