“Vera Mae Ware, 69, of Mayflower died Saturday, February 27, 1999, at the UAMS in Little Rock. Born July 7, 1929, to Thomas Ezra and Fannie Bell Burchell Johnson in Ashley County, Mrs. Ware was a homemaker and a member of the Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther “Jack” Ware. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Doyle Kellum of Conway; three grandchildren, Shawn Blake of Plummerville, Shawnda Blake and Christopher Kellum of Conway; two great-grandchildren, Timothy Blake, and Melissa Blake; and three sisters, Grace Hopper, Ann Frisby and Zelma Barnett, all of Crossett. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett. Pallbearers were Leonard Moates, Ronnie Hopper, Bill Blake, Cary Wyatt, Norris Burchell and Walcie Rice. Burial followed services at the Pinewood Memorial Park.”
