I.C. Ware

“… At the time our society was organized, few if any well bred animals, save a few Berkshire and Poland China Hogs, could be found in our county; but today, the visitor to Howard county may here find good representatives of draft, trotting and thoroughbred racing horses, Short-horns and Aldernay cattle, Cotswold sheep, and poultry, with a good quality of hogs as can be found any where.  How much of this improvement is due to the county fair it would be difficult to estimate, but that a large per cent is properly accredited thereto, no one would doubt who has given the subject a passing thought.

I.C. WARE, Secretary”
