Charles Milton Ware (1855 – )

Mr. Ware devotes his attention largely to dairying with ten grade, short horn cows and a good quota of young cattle. He is president of the Deerfleld Valley creamery. He has a sugar place of 900 buckets and is reputed a good farm manager. Mr. Ware married in 1890, Laura, daughter of Horatio Boyd, a soldier who was killed in the war for the Union. They have two children, Grace and Roy. Mr. Ware is a trustee of the Savings Bank and a member of the investment committee.

The public confidence in his judgement is shown by his election for ten years as selectman—four years as chairman of the board.

He is a Baptist in religious faith. He was elected as a Republican to the last legislature and served on the committee on Banks.

Jeanne A. Ware Obituary, 1998

Jeanne A. Ware spent years as a volunteer at the MetroHealth Medical Center Neonatal Unit and Child Life Department.

Mrs. Ware, 60, died Thursday at home. She had cancer.

She was born in Pittsburgh and graduated from Annunciation High School. She came here in 1971.

She worked at Higbee Department store for a short time. She also volunteered at Lakewood Hospital in the Transport and Life Line departments.

She was active with the PTA and served as a past president at Madison School.

Mrs. Ware also was a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother.

She was an active member of St. James Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was a renewal leader.

Mrs. Ware enjoyed refinishing furniture for her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Rodney B.; sons, Paul of Grafton, David of Chester, N.Y., and Bryan of Lakewood; daughter, Linda Ware of Lakewood; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. James Church, 17514 Detroit Ave., Lakewood.

Brinkman-Dress Funeral Home in Lakewood is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the St. James Church restoration fund; Lakewood United Methodist Church, 15700 Detroit Ave., Lakewood; or Lakewood Christian Service Center, 1410 Marlowe Ave., Lakewood.

Harriett Newsome Ware Obituary, 1999

Harriett Newsome Ware, who spent most of the 71 years she was married in a West Virginia community where her husband, Henry H., was a religious broadcaster, died Tuesday at Euclid Hospital. She was 91.

Mrs. Ware and her husband moved from Lochgelly, W.Va., to Euclid two years ago.

She was born in New Haven, Miss., and attended high school in Bessemer, Ala. She was also a student at Pineywood Vocational Education Center in Pineywood, Ala.

The Wares were married in 1928 and moved to West Virginia two years later.

Mrs. Ware was a talented alto gospel singer. She worked with her husband in the promotion of gospel concerts that brought nationally recognized talent to their community. She was also active in many religious organizations at Hillcrest Baptist Church there.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ware is survived by daughters, Henrietta Champion of Atwater, Calif., Juanita Crider, Gwendolyn Pack and Brenda Abrams, all of Cleveland, and Yvonne Harris of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; sons, Henry H. Jr., Jerome and Melvin, all of Cleveland; 48 grandchildren; 97 great-grandchildren; and 34 great-great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Marrietta Davis, is deceased.

Mrs. Ware’s services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at First Missionary Baptist Church, 4312 Lee Rd., Cleveland.

Arrangements are being handled by the William A. Gaines Funeral Home of Cleveland.

Reuben Ware Jr. Obituary, 2000

Reuben Ware Jr., age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2000 at Isabel Ridgeway Nursing Center. Retired from B&T Metals Co. Attained level of Staff Sergeant and awarded three Bronze Stars for service in WW II. Member of St. Mark’s Lodge 7 for over 50 years. Faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served in various capacities including membership on the Trustee Board, superintendent of the Sunday School, co-chair of the Finance Committee and as a member of the Men’s Chorus. Preceded in death by parents Anna Griffin Ware and Reuben Ware Sr., sister Gladys Ware Hampton and his loving wife of many years Carrie Lewis Ware. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving niece, Edith Bradley-Spiva; nephew, Charles (Delores) Morton; dear friend, Catherine Johnson; and a host of great-nieces and nephews. Funeral service Wednesday 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 461 St. Clair Ave. Rev. E.A. Parham officiating. James H. “Luddie” Ware, age 79, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Columbus, Oh., passed away Thursday, February 24, 2000 after a brief illness. Elizabeth Ware Obituary, 2000

Elizabeth Ware, age 86, of Urbana, Oh., died Tuesday, June 27, 2000 at 12:15 a.m. in Eaglewood Care Center, Springfield, Oh. She was born October 26, 1913 in Urbana, Oh. to Sam and Icy (Goings) Finley. She was a homemaker. Survived by her children, John (Joan) Ware of Urbana, Gilbert (Barbara) Ware of Springfield, Barbara (Robert) Booker Sr., Alan (Antoinette) Ware, all of Columbus, Oh.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, John Warren (Mary) Boyd; and a host of relatives friends. Preceded in death by her mother Icy Boyd, husband John H. Ware in 1985 and sisters Marie Routt and Jeanette Mosley. She was a member of the Hill Street Church of God and later became a member of the Northside Church of God. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2000 in the WALTER-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, Oh., where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. Burial in Oak Dale Cemetery.

Helen Ware, age 91, July 2, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Retired employee from Housekeeping at the Chittenden Hotel. Life time member of Friendship Baptist Church where she sung in the mass choir.
