re: Peter Weare of the Devonshire Regiment, Battle fought in or near Bodmin (ruined castle today).
(sic). “Weare buried ten men that were killed in a
fight between the Roy and the militia. Whereof Captaine Kendall of
Lestithiell, twenty four other militia men were buried during the month of
May and two souldiers of Captaine Blight. 16th May, 1643.
