”LOCKE, Warren Andrew, organist and choirmaster; b. Charlestown, Mass., Oct. 31. 1847; s. Andrew Jackson and Susan Durell (Ware) L.; A.B., Harvard, 1869, A.M., 1872; master at St. Mary’s Sch., Southboro, Mass., 1869-74; studied music in Germany. 1874-8; m. Hamburg, Germany, Oct. 10, 1878, Madeline Weidemann. Organist and choirmaster, St. John’s Ch., Roxbury, Mass., 1878-80. 1st Parish, Cambridge, 1880-88, St. Paul’s Ch., Boston, since 1888, Appleton Chapel. Harvard Univ., since 1882; dir. Harvard Glee Club while at coll.; co.-dir. with George L. Osgood of Harvard Anniversary Chorus, 1886; dir. Alumni Chorus at dedication of new Med. Sch. Bldg., Harvard. Mem. Harvard Musical Assn., Am. Guild of Organists (one of founders, 1896), N. E. Chapter A. G. O. areas., 1905-8). Club: Oakley Country. Mus. editor Univ. Hymn Book, for use in chapel of Harvard Univ., 1895.
