“Mrs. Eva C. Galpin, daughter of George and Sarah Ware, was born in Davis county, Iowa, March 10, 1867, and passed away at her home on the farm Tuesday, May 12, at the age of 64 years, two months and two days.
She lived all her happy girlshood days on a farm with her parents north of Bloomfield and attended the Galpin school and on February 15, 1887, she was united in marriage to William Galpin. Three children were born to this union, one son and two daughters. She with her young husband started their home life on her fathers farm, later buying a farm near Dunville. Some 18 years ago they purchased the Galpin homestead which has since been their home. In her early girlhood she became a Christian and united with the Dunnville Baptist Church, and to this church and the christian faith she had ever remained true, and it was always a joy to be of service to her church and Savior.
She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, son Russell, two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Nusbaum, and Mrs. Alvin Holland, of Ft. Madison; two grandchildren, LaDussa and Truxton; on brother, James Ware, of Bloomfield, and a number of nieces and nephews, with a host of friends.
Funeral services were held in the Baptist church in Bloomfield with the Rev. C. Wesley Fletcher in charge. Interment was in I.O.O.F. cemetery.”
