"Services for Agnes Anderson Ware, 85, of Wedowee were at 2 p.m.
Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at Green's Chapel United Methodist Church, with
the Rev. Ed Grooms officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Ware died Friday, Jan. 4, at Wedowee Hospital.
She was born in Meriwether County, Ga., on Sept. 19, 1916, daughter
of Virgil Martin Anderson and Mary June Williams Anderson. She was a
1933 graduate of Manchester High School, was employed with the Randolph
County Health Department and was a member of Green's Chapel United Methodist
Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clenis F. Ware; two
sisters, LouEllen Weldon and Edith Anderson; and two brothers, Leon Anderson
and Edwin Anderson.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice Ware of Wedowee; a sister, Gloria
Matteri of Sebastopol, Calif.; two nieces and seven nephews.
Pallbearers were Charles Fincher, Guy "Junior" Benefield, Wayne Heard,
Jim Gross, Larry Strain and Billy Wood. Honorary pallbearers were James
Green, R. P. McManus and Larry Conger.
Arrangements were by Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee."
