“Joseph Z. Pollan
Joseph Z. Pollan, 76, resident of Idaho County since 1913 passed away at the General Hospital Saturday afternoon, September 21a, after a lingering illness. He was born April 18, 1870 in Gravatte, Arkansas and on August 9, 1890, he was married to Miss Sallie M. Ware in McDowell county, Missouri. They moved to Oklahoma where they remained until 1912 when they moved to California. They remained there for one year before moving to Idaho county where Mr. Pollan farmed near Grangeville. In 1930 he retired from the farm and the family had since made their home in Grangeville.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Grover Pollan, Frank Pollan, and Alvis Pollan, Grangeville; four daughters, Mrs. Bessie Hutchens of Grangeville, Mrs. Lela Schroeder of Olympia, Mrs. Ada Rogers of San Diego and Mrs. Mamie Porter of Los Angeles; also 28 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hancock Chapel, the Rev. E. J. Wine officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Wine and Mrs. George Wikoff with Mrs. G. H. Pearson accompanying at the organ. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery.”
