"Miss Maudie Rhea Davis, 96, of Arkadelphia died Jan.
8. She was born June 24, 1902 in Caddo Valley, Arkansas and
was the daughter of John H. and Sallie Ware Davis.
Miss Davis was a retired School Teacher having taught
in the Waldron School District most of her teaching career
and taught at Ouachita Baptist University for 10 years before
she retired. She received her B.A. and Master's Degree in math
from Henderson State Teacher's College and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her sister, Iona Sue Davis Pinkerton
of El Dorado, Arkansas; four nephews, John Davis of South
Carolina, Douglas Davis of Dallas, Texas, Stephen Pinkerton and
Michael Pinkerton both of El Dorado, Arkansas, one niece, Sue
Elizabeth Costin of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Jan. 11 at Ruggles-
Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Dubar officiating.
Burial was in DeGray Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bud Reeder, Dwight Kirkpatrick,
James Horton, Billy Ruggles, Murry Ruggles and Bud Shepherd."
