"Sara J. Irwin, 76, of 280 Second St., died Sunday, Sept. 3,
     2000.
        A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Irwin was a daughter
     of the late
     Paul and Mattie Burson Ware and was preceded in death by 
     a son, William Van Irwin. She was a homemaker and lived 
     in Barrow County most of her life.
        Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Wise-Connolly 
     Funeral Home with the Rev. Dave Hinson officiating. Burial 
     will be in Statham Cemetery.
        Survivors include her husband, George ''Waddy'' Irwin; 
     a son, Tony Irwin, Braselton; two sisters, Hilda Ware,  
     Statham, and Marjorie Clark, Arlington, Texas; five grand-
     children; and three great-grandchildren.
        Pallbearers will be Reid Irwin, Steven Irwin, Jason 
     Irwin, Scott Taylor and Barry Taylor.
        The family is at the residence of Waddy Irwin, 280 
     Second St.,Statham.
        In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence
     Methodist Church of Statham."
