“Carol L. Ware, 84, died Nov. 14, 2007. Born May 15, 1923, in Rockford, Ill., she is the daughter of Herbert and Hazel Fransen. Carol had an extremely happy childhood. She and her younger sister, Jean, did everything together even joining the WAVES after graduating from Rockford West High School. She worked as a secretary, and she and Jean sang in a Navy choir. She loved to sing and said she was always going to be in the “Heavenly Choir” someday. She married Vaughn K Ware on Dec. 28, 1945, in Mobile, Ala. and moved back to Rockford. While raising her two girls, she worked in the elementary schools and the Board of Education as a secretary. At age 45, Vaughn died in a car accident. Carol then moved to Boise to be near her daughters and their families. In Boise she worked for the Intermountain Gas Co. and One Hour Martinizing until she retired in 1985. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. With parents who survived the Depression, Carol learned to live with few worldly possessions, but she felt abundantly rich in her wonderful eternal family. She loved her grandchildren and took special joy in her great-grandchildren. In her late 70’s, Carol was struck with Parkinsons. This debilitating disease landed her eventually at Capitol Care Center. She appreciated her loving caregivers and rarely complained about her ability to do so little for herself. She is survived by daughters, Claudia (Ronald) Kennedy of Boise, Idaho and Andrea (John) Sandberg of Federal Way, Wash.; grandchildren, Kevin (Roxanne) Kennedy, Karli (Jared) Riley, Krista (Bryan) Cromar, Carrie (Damon) Holmes, Ryan (Kim) Sandberg, Kristin (Anders) Bjorn, and Leslie Sandberg; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Jocelyn, Morgan and Carson Kennedy, McKale and Jase Riley, Beckam and Myles Cromar, Caleb and Porter Holmes, Will and Mya Sandberg, Kiley and Madison Bjorn. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Yvonne Nelson, of Rockford. Her parents, her husband, and her sister, Elna Culbertson, preceded Carol in death. A graveside service was held by her family, Nov. 18, 2008 in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.”
