Homer Kenneth Ware Obituary, 2005

“Homer Kenneth Ware of LeRoy, Michigan, entered eternal life at his home on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 surrounded by his family. He was 82 years old.

Homer was born on July 27, 1922 in Marcellus to Lester Andrew and Eva E. (Parker) Ware.

Homer served his country in the United States Army in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He worked for many years at Evart Products Company and later at Pine River Area Public Schools, from which he retired in 1987. He was a lifetime member of the Osceola County Sheriffs Posse and recently joined the LeRoy, VFW Post No. 10770.

Homer was a great outdoorsman and especially loved to fish. He enjoyed his family and grandchildren and the adventures he shared with his horse, Devil.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Evelyn L. (Pipher); his children, Thomas Ellis Sr. of Howard City, Steve Ware and fiancée Janet Campeau of LeRoy, Joseph (Penny) Ware of Reed City, Penny (Jeff) Savage of Cadillac, Bonnie Dalman of Three Rivers, Shirley Ware of Coldwater, and Amy Ware of Florida; his siblings, Lewis (Shirley) Ware of Battle Creek, Wayne (Adeline) Ware of Reed City, Vera Hattendorf of Fenton, and Donna (Herb Brugstens) Coffinger of Colon; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six stepchildren; and 14 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Enoch, Harold, his twin Ovid, Max, Addie Stoughton, Mildred DeCair, and Ethel Swihart.

Visitation: Saturday from noon until time of services at the church.

Funeral Services: Saturday at 1 p.m. at Chase-Barton United Methodist Church, 6957 S. Depot St. in Chase with Rev. Connie Shoemaker officiating.

Burial with military honors: Memorial Day weekend in Ellsworth Township Cemetery.

Verdun Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Baldwin.”
