James Harry Ware (1866 – 1951)

“JAMES HARRY WARE built and owned the first public swimming pool in Christian County and also constructed one of the first tourist courts in this part of the state. He was educated at Major J. O. FERRELL’s school and South Kentucky College. He was a member of the Ninth Street Christian Church and a veteran of the Spanish American War.”

  1. I lived on butler rd. Where the pool is located, I always wondered about it. I seen handprints in the concrete dated 1960. Some have told me the pool closed because of drownings, I can’t seem to find anything about it on the web. I don’t know, something has drawn me to find out more about it all.
