Mrs. Dora Ware Obituary, 1976

“Mrs. Dora Ware, 86, of Brusett, died Saturday in Garfield County Hospital in Jordan.

She was born May 31, 1890, in Oakwood, Ontario, and attended school there. As a young woman she moved to Saskatchewan and in 1915 married Arthur Wilbur Ware there.

The couple moved to the Jordan area and homesteaded in the Missouri Breaks. They lived briefly in Lewistown and Libby, returning to the homestead in 1921, ranching there until his death in 1948. She had lived on the ranch and for the past two winters had lived in Culberson and Jordan. In April 1976, she broke her hip and had been hospitalized since.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Loney (Selah) Swanser of Culbertson, Mrs. Bruce (Jean) Gilroy of Ronan, and Mrs. Clyde (Alice) Carpenter of Libby; a son, Art of Jordan; a brother in Ontario; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services in Fairview Community Hall west of Brusett. Burial in Butte Creek Cemetery.”
