“Aluna Jean Waybright Ware, 75, a resident of Valley Head, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 4, 1928, at Webster Springs, the daughter of the late Mose Randolph and Mary Zelma Hamrick Waybright.
On Dec. 5, 1945, in Elkins, she was married to Lyle Chesley Ware, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Randall Lyle Ware and Edwin Lynn Ware, both of Valley Head, and an adopted son, Danny Bamber; and four daughters, Jo Ellen Hogan of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Karen Louise Arbuthnot of Elkins, Pennie Kay Ware of Valley Head and Ronetta Reed of Fredericksburg, Va.
Also surviving are four brothers, Luther James Waybright of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Donald Edwin Waybright of Stow, Ohio, William Franklin Waybright of Clinton, Ohio, and Robert Dale Waybright of Medina, Ohio; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was one daughter, Judith Ann Ware.
Mrs. Ware was employed as a retail clerk for the West Virginia Division of Alcohol and Beverages prior to her retirement.
She served as secretary/treasurer of the Valley Head Volunteer Fire Department for 42 years and was a member of the Willing Workers Club and was a Cub Scout leader.
Mrs. Ware was a member of the Valley Head United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. On Friday, she will be moved to the Valley Head United Methodist Church for visitation from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Robert Baer, the Rev. Walter Blough and the Rev. Richard Crickard will officiate. Interment will follow in the Valley Head Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Head Fire Department, PO Box 36, Valley Head, W.Va. 26294 or to the Davis Memorial Hospital Cancer Care Center, 801 Harrison Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241 in memory of Mrs. Ware. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Aluna Jean Waybright Ware.”
