Dr. Dwight Ware formerly of Wilkes, dies on Sunday
Dr. Lemuel Dwight Ware, DDS, 82, most recently of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. passed away at his home Sunday, May 20, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, at First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro.
The family will receive in the church fellowship hall following the service.
Dr. Ware is survived by his wife, Judy (Kelley) Ware; children, L. David Ware and wife, Angela, of Winston-Salem, Rachel N. Ware and Cynthia Prince, both of Anamosa, Iowa, Charles Prince and wife, Michelle, of Montgomery, Texas, and Cristen Prince of South Carolina; brother, Joe V. Ware and wife, Betty, of North Wilkesboro; and grandchildren Blake Ware, Avery Ware, and Nicole Shuttleworth
Dr. Ware was born to Lemuel and Janette Ware in Kings Mountain, on Sept. 4, 1929. He completed an undergraduate degree in Biology and Physical Education at Western Carolina Teachers College in 1951 before joining the United States Air Force in 1953.
After being honorably discharged in 1959, Dr. Ware graduated from the Dental College at Emory University in 1960. Dr. Ware was a longtime resident of North Wilkesboro, where he practiced dentistry for nearly 40 years, was an active member and leader within the Rotary Club, and a member of First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro.
