“Everett R. Ware of Stockton, N.J., formerly of Medford Lakes, died Friday, April 8, 2011. He was 84.
Born Jan. 22, 1927, in Medford, to Robert and Elva Ware.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Japan.
Everett went to work in 1951, for RCA and in 1957, joined RCA Engineering, Government Division, first working on developing and testing noise cancelling in microphones and headsets, which are still used in all U.S. Air Force planes. He then worked for NASA developing magnetic tape recorders for Space. Some of the spacecrafts that had this equipment were Mercury, Gemini, Skylab, Apollo Moon Rover, Mars Observer and Nora TV weather information.
After retiring from GE in 1989, he worked as a consultant for two more years.
Everett lived in Medford Lakes until 2004, when he moved to Assisted Living in Flemington.
Everett was preceded in death by his wife, the former Dorothy Shaffer; and his twin sister, Shirley Reily.
He is survived by his sister, Helen Zelley of Delaware Township; nephews, Charles Zelley of Delaware Township, Richard Reily of Coral Springs, Fla., and Robert Reily of Chatsworth, Calif.; and a niece, Barbara Pisano of Irvin, Calif.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Lechner Funeral Home, 24 N. Main St., Medford. Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Interment is in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mount Holly
