‘Melva I. Ware, 82, Pleasant Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Pleasant Hill Health Care and Rehab Center.
She was born July 29, 1922, in Parkin, Ark., the daughter of Hugh and Edna (Hosselton) Goss.
On Feb. 28, 1948, she married Kenneth R. Ware in Independence.
Mrs. Ware attended school in Parkin. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary 3118 and Ladies Golf League, all of Pleasant Hill.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Kenneth R. Ware, Jan. 6, 2003; three brothers, George Goss, Clyde Goss and J.T. Goss; a sister, Trudy Madison; a daughter-in-law, Karen Ware; a grandchild, Doug Russell; and a great-grandchild, Dennis Clyde Russell.
Surviving are a son, Jay Ware, of the home; two daughters, Joan Mabary, Harrisonville, and Janice Hook and her husband, Charles, Lee’s Summit; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jill Hull, Sam Clark, Jim Quinn, Dale McClintock, Jim Lotspeich and Jerrall Hayes.
Services were Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, with the Rev. Bruce Jacobs officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, under the direction of the Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill.”
