Harry Ware Obituary, 1918

“Warren Parents Brought Home Two Dead Sons

One Son Died Before Mr. and Mrs. William Ware Reached Bedside

Mr. and Mrs. William Ware, of Warren arrived home Monday with the bodies of two sons who died in the west, about a week ago Mr. and Mrs. Ware started to the bedside of their son Wesley, who was engaged in church work in Aberdeen, North Dakota. The young man died before the parents reached him, and the news was waiting them that an older son Harry, was very ill at a town about forty miles distant.

The parents went on and the other son only lived a few days, and the bodies were brought home together. The young men are grandsons of D. S. Gephart.

Was Double Funeral

Both young men were victims of Spanish influenza. Harry, aged 31 years, was employed on a ranch near Millette, and Wesley, age 24 years, was engaged in clerical work in Aberdeen. They were of a family of nine children.

A double funeral was held in the Methodist Church at Warren, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Rev. O. E. Lester in charge. Interment in Woodlawn at Warren.

NOTE: Obit states Aberdeen, North Dakota — I find no such town in North Dakota — possibly Aberdeen, South Dakota was meant?

(Thanks to David Huffman for OBIT)”
