“Funeral services will be held Thursday Jan. 18, 1939 for James Lon Ware, 56, who died in his home after a lengthy illness. Services will be held in Ware’s Chapel Cemetery with burial in the Cemetery there. Survivors are his widow Willie Green Ware, three children, Perry, Athelee and Clarice Ware, four brothers, John, S. A.,Crate, Lacy and three sisters Mrs. P. Hardaway, Mrs. A. J. Smith and Mrs. R. E. Crump. He was the Son of Thomas Perry and Sarah F. Modisette Ware.
Mr. Ware has been in very ill health for several months, but recovered sufficiently to come to town a few weeks ago, but became seriously ill again the first of the week when pneumonia developed. He was a member of the
Police Jury, representing Ward 2, and has been a member for seven years. He also has been an operator of a school bus for many years, transporting children from Ward 2 to Haynesville schools.
Mr. Ware was a splendid gentleman and had many friends over the entire parish. His passing will be missed very much by hundreds of friends, who join with the News in extending sympathy to the bereaved ones in this sad hour.”
