James M. Ware Obituary, 1957

“James M. WARE, 69, a lifelong resident of the Kewanna community, died Saturday morning at Woodlawn hospital. He was the son of Henry and Ann PINDER WARE and was born June 15, 1888 on the farm where he resided at the time of his death, four miles southeast of Kewanna. He was a 1913 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was married Oct. 20, 1920, to Mary WALSH. They were the first couple married in the St. Ann’s church at Kewanna. Mr. Ware was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Leroy Shelton American Legion post of Rochester and president of the Holy Name Society of the St. Ann’s church. Surviving are his wife; one son, James H. WARE, Warsaw; two daughters, Mrs. Mary DAWSON, in Germany; and Mrs. Margaret ANGELL, Ukiah, Cal.; nine grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Agnes LARKIN, South Bend. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Ann’s church with the Rev. James FITZGERALD officiating. The rosary will be repeated at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrison funeral home. The Leroy Shelton [American] Legion Post will conduct military rites at the St. Ann’s cemetry in Grass Creek, where burial will be made.”
